Everything has been given to us by God.  We are called to demonstrate our love to others, and to God.  What is the ultimate test of your love for God?  The answer is given in 2 Corinthians 8:1-12.  David denHartog explains this passage and the ultimate test.

David denHartog teaches from 2 Corinthians 9:5-11a on “grace-giving.”  Grace-giving is separate from tithe giving.  This passage outlines four characteristics of grace-giving.

Dean Elliott continues teaching about tithing; from Hebrews 7:1-10.  What is a tithe?  Why is the tithe 10%?

Nursery rhymes are intended to help children learn about our world in fun and memorable ways.  The book of Proverbs is intended to help us learn the basics of a wise person.  In this sermon, Dean Elliott explains Proverbs 3, focusing on verses 9 and 10.  Do you know what it means to tithe?

David denHartog teaches from I Corinthians 14 and explains the difference between the spiritual gifts of prophecy and speaking in tongues.  We all come to church with deep needs.  God uses others in the church to meet those needs, through spiritual gifts.

David denHartog begins with a question: What do you think of when you hear “church?”  The church exists to make disciples – to become disciples and to make disciples.  In other words, to build up the church.  In I Corinthians 14, Paul gives three factors that are necessary for building up the people within the […]

Dean Elliott teaches from I Corinthians 13, explaining it within its context.  God’s DNA is love, and this is what love looks like.  It is better than any Spiritual gift. Dean also explains last week’s sermon title, “Fingerprints.”  When the Holy Spirit picks you up, by the gifts of the Spirit, and carries you away, he […]

Dean Elliott continues teaching from I Corinthians.  It seems as though the Corinthians have asked Paul, “How can we make ourselves more spiritual?”  Paul answers the question in Chapter 12, emphasizing that no matter what your gift-mix, all of it is wasted if you do it just for you.

Dean Elliott continues the As It Was In the Days of Noah, a series that looks at the second coming of Christ as we prepare our hearts during the Christmas season.  This series is not about being smarter or right in the details of Jesus’ second coming, but being ready.  Because Jesus was born in a manger, […]

The focus of I Corinthians 11:17-34 is celebrating the Lord’s Supper.  David denHartog hopes to give us a deeper appreciation and better understanding of the Lord’s Supper through today’s sermon.

David denHartog teaches through Psalm 32, explaining how God has given us forgiveness through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Don Hunt teaches through Ephesians 2:1-10, encouraging us to focus on God’s mercy – instead of Murphy’s laws.

Senior Pastor David denHartog examines gender roles (and designations) through a Biblical context.

In this fourth part of the “Well… It All Depends” series, we take a look at the jealousy of God for our hearts and our lives.

Associate Pastor Dean Elliott examines Paul’s words about his vocation, his worth, and his ultimate goal (winning people’s hearts and lives for Christ) in 1 Corinthians.

Dean Elliott speaks about loving people (and showing it) in this second part of the “Well… It All Depends” series.

Dean Elliott begins this series called “Well… It All Depends” with a look at how freedom gives us either the opportunity to chase after Jesus and love people radically, or to make choices that allow other things to take the place of God in our lives.

Charlie Bing, the founder and director of GraceLife Ministries, reminds us that Jesus instructed us to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth.

Marriage is hard, and often it feels like a mess.  David denHartog begins a new series on Marriage, Divorce, and Remarriage, leading to the next chapter in I Corinthians.  In this first part, he teaches about marriage, using select passages in Genesis; helping us to understand 4 seeds that can be sown in your marriage that lead to […]

Dean Elliott wraps up the Keeping Our Eye on the Finish Line series speaking about the skills needed to make small groups successful.  In Matthew 7:1-12, Jesus teaches how we can interact with real people, who have real stories, and lead them to the real God.

Don Hunt continues the Keeping Our Eye on the Finish Line series by explaining the importance of small groups.  What happens in a small group of people?  Why are they important for the growth of the church?  For the growth of individuals? Scripture references: John 14:7-16; I Corinthians 12:26; Proverbs 18:1; Hebrews 10:24-25

Just as a baker needs to know the ingredients to make a successful recipe, so also that when you have a mission in life, you have to know how to accomplish the mission.  The Church’s mission is to make disciples.  But how does the church do that?  What ingredients does a church need to successfully […]

David denHartog exhorts us to keep our eye on the finish line if we are to succeed as a church.  What is our goal as a church?  What is our goal as individual believers?  How do we measure success at CBC?  Our goal comes from Matthew 28:19.  Pastor David uses selected verses from the Gospel […]

Dean Elliott concludes the series on John 14:6, teaching believers in Jesus Christ how to connect with God on a personal, regular basis.  Today, we learn about the third step in the pattern: life.  What is life?  What do we think it means?  What does the Bible say it is?

Dean Elliott continues to give believers in Jesus Christ practical, usable answers for coming into the presence of the living God.  It is our birthright, and it is not restricted to Sunday mornings or spiritual leaders or specific places.  It is according to a three-part pattern, carried out in a certain order.  Today, he teaches about the second […]
