Two Kings, Two Kingdoms

David denHartog gives us a challenge for our lives from Psalm 90:12, “So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom.”  He gives us the example of two Kings and two kingdoms, both found in the book of Matthew: King Herod and the King of Kings, Jesus.  Whatever we invest in this life now, we can enjoy, but when this life is over – its over – and you can’t take it with you.  But, whatever we invest in Jesus’ kingdom will last forever.  The call to believe is a gift, but then there is an invitation to discipleship.  What does that entail?  Matthew 16:21-28 explains three steps for a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ.

Other Scripture references:  Matthew 16:18; Ephesians 2:19-22; 1 Peter 2:4-5; Zechariah 14:1-4

Pastor Dave’s sermon begins with a power point and photos of the places he is explaining.  Please watch the video version if you would like to see all of those.
