Dean Elliott teaches from Matthew 24:36-44, where Jesus answers the first of the disciples questions found in Matthew 24:3. There are three characteristics given to this time period in which the Rapture occurs.  This passage is less about the placement of the Rapture with regard to the Tribulation, and more about the obedience that is expected of God’s people now, and distinguishing it clearly from the kind of obedience that Jesus is expecting from people who will believe in Him during the Tribulation.  To help us understand the particular kind of obedience and faith of God’s people during the time of the Tribulation compared to now, Dean compares two kinds of athletes – the long distance runners and the sprinters.  He also explains why he believes that the Rapture occurs at the beginning of the Tribulation period.
