Dean Elliott teaches from Colossians 1:9-14. Paul prays first for the concepts that he would elaborate further in his letter. We see a primary prayer request, that would lead to them living their lives in a certain way, and then why a person should do that. It is easy to find a substitute for Jesus and to abandon the simplicity of walking with Jesus. Just like a gyroscope that can continue spinning even if it gets bumped, God wants us to “spin, baby, spin” around the axis of Jesus, and use His power to do so.
