David DenHartog teaches from Job 18–19. In today’s passage, we see Bildad wrongly assess Job’s suffering. Job initially responds with hopelessness, but then he finds hope in the saving faith he has in the Lord. Three applications can be drawn from this text:
1. Show compassion to those who are hopeless, no matter the reason for their hopelessness.
2. Fix your hope on Jesus when you feel hopeless.
3. The righteous will see God, and the wicked will be judged.
