David denHartog teaches from Job 8:1–10:22. Job does not understand why he is suffering so deeply. His friend Bildad assumes that Job’s troubles are the result of sin, but Bildad fails to recognize the incomprehensible wisdom and sovereignty of God.
In chapters 9 and 10, Job moves from recognizing that he cannot defend himself before God to expressing his desire to bring his case directly to God. When we do not understand why things happen as they do, we must:
1. Walk by faith when we lack sight.
2. Rest in God’s love when we lack answers.
