Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde

Kevin Bentley teaches from Matthew 23:1-19.  In the book, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, there is a struggle of right and wrong, of light and dark.  We even see this struggle in the Word of God in Romans 7, if you will. Matthew 23 begins Jesus’ last public sermon.  The woes are used to express deep regret and painful sorrow toward the behavior and attitudes of the Pharisees, and parallel the eight Beatitudes from Matthew 5:3-12.  With these two passages, we see a contrast of righteousness and unrighteousness.

Additional Scripture references: Ephesians 4:25; Leviticus 11; I Samuel 16:7
