Barbra Valerio, Nursery Preschool Coordinator
My name is Barbra Valerio. My family includes my husband John, and our children Kamille and Jonathan. Initially, John and I were seeking a new church home; we were seeking a place where we could all grow, a place with something… more. As a young happy family, we joined Cleburne Bible Church in the summer on 1994. The deciding Factor for this step of faith was the lack of a children’s ministry at our previous church. God then led us here to CBC though the AWANA program; John and I served as leaders while Kamille and Jonathan were AWANA clubbers. Additionally, during this season, I served as a Sunday school teacher and a nursery care provider. After many years of serving in these ministries, I felt called to begin serving in Sunday evening child care; the year was 1994. Since this lateral transition I have continued to teach Sunday school, assisted in the organizing and managing of vacation bible schools, and I have loved countless children; introducing them to the love of Jesus. In November, 2013 I accepted a staff position at CBC as the Nursery / Preschool Ministry Coordinator.
As a successful small business owner for 28 years and a loving parent who helped raise two godly children; I understand the importance of being organized, dedicated, adaptable, and above all … loving. My goal as well as the desire of my heart is to provide an organized, safe, and fun loving environment. I seek to create a safe place that facilitates personal growth and development for all children; filled with opportunities to learn biblical truths and the love of Jesus Christ. When parents drop off their children, I want them to feel secure knowing that their children are learning, well cared for, and loved here at CBC. I am so blessed that God led us here to Cleburne Bible Church, a place where grace does indeed make a difference.
Karen Sarver, Children’s Ministry Administrative Assistant
Many know me as “Alan’s wife,” and I am delighted to say we have been married over 31 years and have 2 adult sons. I am a native Montanan and accepted Jesus as my Savior as a teenager. Since arriving in Cleburne in 2008, I am surprised to find Texas weather just as extreme and dry as Montana. I am excited to find Jesus’s healing through both the redemptive programs and preaching of God’s Word at Cleburne Bible Church. It is my prayer that God be honored as I work behind the scenes in Children’s Ministry with administrative details! I also serve by teaching 2nd and 3rd Grade girls during one of the Sunday morning services.
Paula Sterrett, Children’s Ministry Elementary Assistant
As a Pioneer Missionary Kid, my life has been about Ministry in a unique and challenging way. God gifted me with a family that ministered to others, in creative ways to reach those we were called to minister to. Creativity and ingenuity were critical to creating a welcoming and safe environment for the people we were called to impact for Christ.
Both Randy & I are blessed to be used of God by reaching out through Creative Arts, to minister to the Church body as well as a tool to evangelize the lost. When I began teaching Music and Theater Arts in 1988, I realized how powerful this gift was in reaching into the hearts and lives of children and adults.
I believe Music and Theater Arts are vital tools in connecting the intellect and heart, giving young students as well as adults a wonderful understanding of the vastness of God’s creative power, beauty, and grace.
Paid Childcare Staff
Our Paid Childcare Staff are screened and trained to work with specific age groups each Sunday and for events where CBC provides childcare. They provide the steady, consistent care in each classroom for our youngest members on Sundays, as well as during the week for Bible Studies and special events when ministry to children is needed. They provide foundational care that allows the families of Cleburne Bible to engage in learning and personal growth.
Our Ministry relies on responsible, supportive, enthusiastic volunteers who love kids and generously serve with their time and energy. Volunteers complete an application, which includes permission for a background check. If you would like to volunteer, please see Vicki Neutzler. To download an application, please click here: Forms.
All Volunteers need to bring back an application and background check. Preschool Volunteers may sign up for a Sunday by using the sign-up sheets at our Greeting Cart. For more information, contact Vicki Neutzler.
