DISCOVERY CLASS – led by Russ & Rhonda Schubert, meets in Room 109 during the 9:00 AM service. Upon completion of the 4-week class, attenders are allowed to interview for membership at CBC. Generally this class is repeated at the beginning of every month. Sign-up is required and may be done at the kiosk in the Community Area. Russ serves on the Elder Board and he and Rhonda have led the Discovery class for many years.

FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY – led by Ben Bowles, meets in Room 110. It is a10-week class that covers the Biblical basis and skills of godly financial management. There is a $120 fee for materials. Sign-up is required and can be done in the Community Area. Class size will be limited to no more than 7 couples. Ben, and his wife, Sara, are parents of five children and have learned well how to manage finances. Having taught this class many times, Ben is an experienced FPU instructor.

THE FORGE – led by Jason Tennison, meets in Rooms 109-110, during the 10:45 AM service. This group, which includes people in their 20s, 30s & 40s (but all are welcome), engages in transparent, authentic round table discussions of Scripture with the goal of discovering relevant applications to the modern Christian life. The Talks, beginning in October, is one of the most important, and also most dreaded, areas of discipling our children. Watch for more info on The Talks. Jason considers his most important ministry loving and leading his wife, Amy, and their children, Maryn, Carter, and Ellie. He also fully believes that his most impressive feat was convincing Amy to marry him, and knows that everything else following would be impossible without her. In addition to this class he serves on the Elder Board, plays in the worship band, leads a small group, one-on-one discipleship, and serves on the Board of Directors of Cleburne Education Foundation.

SURVEY OF THE NEW TESTAMENT –  led by Walt Millet, will meet in SMA-A, during the 10:45 AM service. We will take a guided tour through the New Testament to discover the treasures waiting for us in each book. Each Sunday we will focus on one book of Scripture and learn its purpose (why God gave it to us), its meaning (condensed in one easy-to-understand sentence), its outline (how the book is put together), and its relationship to our lives. By joining this journey we believe each of us will see the New Testament in an entirely new way. Walt is a graduate of Louisiana State University (B.S., Education) and Dallas Theological Seminary (M.A. Biblical Studies, M.A. Christian Education). For the last 31 years Walt has served on the staff of The Navigators in the local community and on the university and seminary campus. In this service he has been an instructor in Religious Studies at Tarleton State University and in discipleship for the Field Education Department of Dallas Theological Seminary. For eight years he served on the board of the Grace Evangelical Society. He lives in Stephenville with his wife, Rosy. They have three grown children and three grandchildren.
