Hi, my name is Don Hunt, I am the Pastor of Outreach at Cleburne Bible Church and the Director of iServe Missions. I want to take this chance to introduce myself and share some of my story.
I was raised in a Christian home and attended church as a child. I lived most of my teen years and early twenties living for myself and chasing after my own dreams. It wasn’t until after military service that I recognized the call that God had placed on my life and I started to make changes to represent the God I said I believed in.
I had begun to realize that everything I was working for was temporary and would pass away. I was mentored by my pastor and after some time began helping out with the youth group at my church. As I started building relationships with my neighbors I began to experience God working in awesome ways, and a passion was fanned in my heart. My desire was to help people experience the real and living God, not just talking about it but through service and development. I love the energy, the spontaneity, and the raw love for God that can be experienced as we serve Him.
In the year 2001 I married my beautiful wife Karen, and in 2003 we were blessed with a son, Cole. My second son, Austen, was born in the summer of 2006, followed by my third son, Levi, in July 2011. God called Karen and me to Cleburne Bible Church, where I served several years as youth pastor and now serve as Outreach Pastor, and it was there that the vision for iServe Missions was launched.
These past years have been exciting and challenging. God has shown Himself faithful over and over again as He continually surprises us by constantly transforming the lives of people in this community through relief and development. We have enjoyed some huge Thanksgiving celebrations, as well as the feeding and the service projects.
God has also blessed us with an awesome team of volunteers to help make transformation happen. I love these guys and value everything they do. “When God is for us, who can be against us?” I would love to invite you to serve with us and personally get to know our awesome volunteer staff. We have a dynamic group and are pumped about what God is doing.
