Rule #1

Dean Elliott explains that the first rule for riding a roller coaster is:  know what to expect.  The same is also true when we live a life of prayer through the power of the Holy Spirit.  Dean helps us understand what to expect and where we wind up using Romans 7 and 8, and Philippians 2:5-8.

Prayer Challenge from July 2, 2017:

I commit daily for the month of July to:
–Examine my own heart for sin
But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.  If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.   1 John 1:7-9
–Pray that the Father would keep me from temptation
Lead me not into temptation, but deliver me from the evil one.    Matthew 6:13
–Pray for God to enable me to to love Him and others
Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.  And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.    1 John 5:14-15
–Pray for every individual in CBC to:
—–Be bold in evangelism
Praying always ….for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel.    Ephesians 6:18
—–Love one another fervently
Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart,    1 Peter 2:22
—–Become fully devoted followers of Christ
Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.    Colossians 1:28
